I graduated from Jefferson High School in 1973. I worked as on on-air personality at WXUS (now WKHY) while attending Jeff and started my television career in 1974 at WLFI-TV in Lafayette as a video switcher working my way up to Producer-Director before leaving in 1978.
I moved to New Orleans in 1978 joining WGNO-TV as Producer-Director where I learned quite a bit about directing live TV and actually met and worked with Johnny Carson on a charity project.
In 1982 I was offered an opportunity to join the operations staff of WTBS at Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta, GA. I currently serve as a manager in the Satellites and Circuits group. Our group is primarily responsible for facilitating all aspects of remote transmission for TBS Sports including satellite transmission uplinks and downlinks, fiber optics, and telephone circuits.
I've enjoyed a wide range of experiences in my broadcasting career that would not have been possible if it had not been for the opportunity given to me by Mr. Fraser. Entering the world of radio and TV at Jefferson High School was a benefit I've come to appreciate time and time again. I often wonder where I would be now if I had elected to just sit in study hall.
