I graduated from Jefferson H.S. in 1990 and from Purdue with a Bachelors degree in Telecommunications in 1994. Since my senior year in high school, I've been on the air on several different radio stations. While in high school and for a couple of years in college, I was on at night at WKJM 95.3 FM, Power 95 a CHR/Top 40 station in West Lafayette. From there, I went to nights at WAZY 96.5 FM, another Top 40 station in Lafayette. In October of 1996, WAZY bought another local station and turned it into an Alternative/Modern Rock radio station, 95.7 WGBD, The Rocket. I've been on the air on the Rocket for the past year and a half. At about the same time as the switch to the Rocket, I was also given the opportunity to program the music for both WAZY and WGBD. I also host a new music program on the Rocket which may eventually segue way into a position at the Journal & Courier reviewing new music from major label bands as well as local/independent bands. While on the air on WAZY, I was the #1 rated evening radio host in Lafayette. The Rocket recently was rated the #1 Alternative/Modern Rock station in the United States!!
The opportunity to be on the air at Jeff allowed me to get over some of the rookie DJ jitters and enabled me to jump right into on air work at commercial radio stations. The TV/Video experience at Jeff has also allowed me to occasionally work on a few promotional video projects. When not on the air or at the station, I like to take long walks on the beach, enjoy candle light dinners….ooops, wrong internet site bio…
