Eric Martin-1996

I remember being pretty happy when I found out I "made the team" for the advanced radio/TV class, but I think it wasn't until later in college that I really realized how far ahead of other schools Jeff is with this facility and the course offerings. It's a great experience and I hope the kids there today appreciate and avail themselves of that opportunity. From what I hear from my younger brother and fellow RTV alum, they keep making improvements to the equipment and class structure. I love that I can tune in 91.9 when I'm back in town and hear something 24 hours a day now.

As for Mr. Brist - there are several kinds of teachers - some demand respect by being strict disciplinarians, others fail to connect with their students, and others somehow make you want to get as much out of a class as you can. That's what Mr. Brist did. We all looked forward to his classes, and we were (usually) proud of what we accomplished in there. Also, he knows where I live.

After high school I went to Purdue and got a Masters degree in aeronautical engineering in 2002. I then took a job at a consulting company in San Diego. I help design airplanes, satellites, and rockets, with an occasional roller coaster ride or random widget thrown in for good measure. Although the zoo here is better than Columbian Park's, I still miss home and hope the rest of you are doing something you like.
