While attending Jeff high school, I was a staff member at WJEF
and had a morning show, besides attending RTV classes. I went to Indiana University
: Bloomington for one year, then transferred to the North Carolina School of
the Arts : School of Filmmaking, a conservatory-type environment where I received
a BFA in filmmaking with an emphasis in directing. While there I directed a
number of projects on video and film, my senior thesis film, NEWTON, being
nominated for a Student Academy Award in the catagory of experimental film
in 2001.
After graduating, I got a couple of film jobs before I eventually moved to
Los Angeles, where I have worked on feature films, largely in art department
roles, while also finding work doing graphic design and
motion graphics on a freelance basis. Throughout this, I continue to write
screenplays and pursue directing opportunities.

My time at WJEF was a grand experience. A full-fledged radio and tv department
is a rare find amongst high schools. Randy Brist not only showed me the technical
aspects of production, but more importantly,
helped to foster and encourage my plan to pursue a career in the entertainment
industry. I enjoy going back and seeing what fine new gear the kids get to
use, which is a far cry from what I had to work
with. Still, it's a wonderful program run by a great guy, and it has made a
world of difference to me.
